Second Trimester Ultrasound Scans: What to Expect

The second trimester ultrasound, often performed between 13 and 27 weeks of pregnancy, is a key part of prenatal care. Sometimes called the “anatomy scan,” this detailed ultrasound assesses the baby's growth and development, checks for physical abnormalities, and evaluates the placenta, amniotic fluid, and umbilical cord. It can also reveal the baby's sex, if desired.

This scan offers reassurance for expectant parents and helps healthcare providers plan for a healthy pregnancy and delivery
